Autumn Coaching

The autumn coaching term will commence on Monday 10th September for 10 weeks until 23rd November 2007.  Registration will take place on August 20th from 2 – 4pm and 21st August 6.30 – 7.30pm. The cost will be €80 for 1 child with a reduction of €2 for 2nd and subsequent children.  If away on holidays and wish to secure a place, please forward payment in envelope with child’s name and day and time of coaching to office.

Junior Tournaments:

Last tournament before summer breaks is Tuesday 12th June. Junior tournaments will recommence in September. This is a very popular social tournament with the children, however, as the tournament is run on a voluntary basis and many of the children are new to tennis, parental supervision is required while they are on court. If you are willing to help, a list will be posted on the Junior Noticeboard where you can place your name beside the date that suits you or contact a member of the Junior Committee.  If we don’t get the necessary help from parents, the tournament cannot continue.

Boys and Girls Ladders

If anyone would like to join the Ladder can you please contact Vanessa Taylor or Ann M. Hayes. Any junior wanting to get some practice and are interested in playing on teams should join the ladder as selection for teams will be partly based on ladder performances.  Regular games guaranteed!

Tennis Attire

Whites only rule applies from 1st may to 30th September. Parents and Juniors please note that predominantly white clothing (including trainers) must be worn at all times. Coloured tracksuits can be worn in winter over whites. No football/rugby jerseys!  Our very popular Malahide Tennis white hoodies may be purchased from the office at a cost of €22 for children and €28 for adults.

Court Etiquette

Due to Health & Safety Regulations juniors under 7 years of age unless participating in a coaching lesson are not permitted to play on court/or sit on the sidelines at any time.  Parents please note that children must be collected promptly from their lesson as next coaching session may have started and coaches cannot provide supervision if they are involved in coaching.

Non Members

Only members of MLTCC are allowed in the club. Any juniors found bringing in non-members will, after a warning, be given a period of suspension.

Open Tournaments

The Tennis Ireland Calendar is on the Junior Noticeboard.  Many clubs run open tournaments during the summer and we would encourage all our juniors to enter these. If your child wishes to enter any of these events, please check this on a regular basis as posted notification is not possible. Entry forms for various tournaments are kept above table in the hall.

Under 12 mixed summer league

Congratulations to our team:- Matthew Taylor, Eoin Fitzsimmons, Conor Purcell, Eoin O’Connor, Fiona Keenan, Lisa Murphy and Alice Immick who reached the quarter finals but were narrowly beaten by Naas. Well done to all!

If any parents would like to become involved on the Committee, helping with tournaments, social activities, etc we would love to hear from you. Our vision for Junior Tennis is that all juniors enjoy their tennis and achieve tennis skills to the best of their ability.
